Want to be a SAHM or FTWM??

OK. I am on my second tag. This time, It's from MichelleSau. I think this is a much easier tag compared to the first one. And, it's just right on time for me to write about it. As I keep thinking what I should do.Wanna be a SAHM or FTWM? Yeah, this meme is " If you were given a choice, would you be a SAHM (Stay at Home Mother) or FTWM (Full Time Working Mother)? "

First of all, I am a SAHM now. But, I always got work to do besides blogging or taking care of Elizabeth. I have a family business, which is mostly operated by my mom now. However, I still have to help up in many ways............ so, should I considered myself a PTWM (part time working mother) or SAHWM (stay at home working mother)? :)

To me, if you got maid or may be your mother or your MIL to help out, it's good to be a SAHM. This simple because, you just won't get crazy if a lot of helping hands are around, and it's always wide open when you seriously need it. haha.............

In this case, I am so lucky that I have my mother, my granny, my nai ma, and my maid taking turns to take care of my baby Elizabeth. So, I can cool down almost immediately every time I get mad or screw up by getting help from them. On the other hand, baby Elizabeth is very lucky to have such a great attentions. That's why sometimes I felt, little Lizzy is just another "Queen Elizabeth" at her home sweet home! :)

This situation also indicates that I always have some personal time do to some of the things that I like. For instance, blogging. :) However, please take into consideration that Elizabeth is a breastfed baby. So, she tends to *stick* with me most of the time. Therefore, I am still the one who takes care of her most of the time. So, I still grumble a lot when baby Elizabeth was naughty. And, I still get mad too when she woke up a few times during midnight. And, really feel like get rid of her once in a while, so that I can enjoy some personal time going shopping, sleep soundly, chit chatting with friends out in the cafe, finished my post in one shot without break........

As a result, I thought of getting her a baby sitter. Then, I can go to work. The main purpose was to get her out of my sight, so that I can *rest in peace* sometimes. ( Damn cruel, right?) Just imagine I have gone through my life with full freedom for 25 years, and all of the sudden, I had this great responsibility -- Elizabeth, that certainly took off most of my freedom. May be not physically but emotionally. This is because no matter what I do now, I would have to consider her needs more than my own. For instance, I need to feed her first whenever I go for dinner and I also have to work out on her, each and every morning before I can take my breakfast or bathe, and if I don't bring her out with me, I start to worry about her and so on..............In short, she had became part of me. "She's always in my mind..., She's always in my mind.........." *Healy Singing* :)

So, you might think I prefer to be a FTWM based on my descriptions above as a SAHM. Yeah, I can't denied that being a SAHM could be the toughest job for me. However, like it or not, after all, I'm already in it! hehe............

So, Why I still prefer to be a SAHM? It's simply because:

1. Simple but major reason. I love Elizabeth more than myself. So, I am willing to scarify as a mother. hehe......... I sounds so proud, don't I? :) But, this is really the main reason for me.

I always have this thought that, I am the one who decided to bring her to this world, so I have the full responsibility to take good care of her and make sure she is happy to be in this world. Also, Elizabeth is only 6 months old now and She certainly needs her mummy in this age. In short, she needs me.

2. Ask me if I prefer being a SAHM or FTWM? I can answer you straight away. I prefer full time working. Earn my own money, spend my own money as well. That's something I miss.............. However,Me as her mother still feels tough to full time baby seat her. And, I still get mad sometimes even she is my own child. So, if I hire a baby sitter or leave her to my maid, do you think they will take good care of her? May be they are good, but, definitely not better than me -- her own mother. This shows that I am just being very careful. ( may be to you, I am a bit fussy. hehe....but, this is my baby, you know? I just can't afford to make mistakes on her.)

3. Watching Elizabeth grow taller, stronger and wiser from day to day, is one of the precious gift from God that money can't buy. I know I am going to regret if I miss her first word. I especially enjoy being the one who knows or understands my daughter most. I supposed every mother enjoy to have some kind of connections or the clicks and bonds with her child that no one can replace.

Finally, if Elizabeth starts going to Kindy, Then, my choice would be the other way round. Why?

1) It's time for her to be a bit independent.

2) I got to get back to work before it's too late. ( Before I become too lazy or a bit slow )

3) I want Elizabeth to be strong. At least, she can work hard for her own living, meaning earn her own money. So, I got to be the role model. I need to work hard as well.

4) I hope she can survive well in her later working life. And, I can still guide her on that. So, I must be successful enough to guide her. ( I would at least try mt best)

5) I need to help my mum on her business simple because I know she needs help.

OK. That's all. And, before I stop writing, I totally agree that there is no good or bad for either being a SAHM or FTWM. It's all depends on our life conditions and our perceptions.
